Overview

John McAllister co-founded Deoxy Labs in 2022 and leads design from Texas. John suggested the company’s name, designed Blackjack’s enclosure, and leads HaloXR II and the Triaxis Depth Engine, scene capture and 3D reconstruction for law enforcement.

Before Deoxy Labs, John founded Internal Archive, a community documenting Apple prototype hardware and pre-release software, and did its graphic design. It grew to around 4,500 followers, and its finds were picked up by Apple news sites.

John studies business at university and serves in public safety in Texas, as a fire department cadet and in the Texas State Guard. That work, and a commitment to helping others, is what HaloXR II is built for.

  • 3D capture and reconstructionThe Triaxis Depth Engine, which turns a LiDAR scan on iPhone into a textured, measurable 3D model, on the device or at full resolution inside the department.
  • Hardware design and prototypingRapid prototyping, enclosures and 3D printing: Blackjack’s clamshell enclosure, and Helix, the debug cable that earned a superior rating at the SkillsUSA Texas state competition.
  • Apple prototype researchIdentifying and documenting Apple prototype hardware and pre-release software, from Internal Archive’s first finds on.
  • Design and brandGraphic design and identity, from Internal Archive’s look to the name Deoxy Labs.
